Glossary Term

Construct

A psychological concept or trait being measured by a survey (e.g., “self-esteem”).

A construct is the concept you intend to measure (e.g., belonging, cooperation, or anxiety). Clear construct definitions guide item writing and choice of format.

In Puppet Interview studies, constructs are mapped to age-appropriate items, and evidence for construct validity and content validity is gathered through pilots and expert review.
