Normative Data

Reference scores from a defined population used to interpret an individual or group’s performance.

Normative data provide reference distributions for interpreting scores (e.g., typical responses for grade 1). In early childhood research, norms should reflect local demographics and contexts.

While Puppet Interview facilitates consistent data collection, building norms requires sufficient, representative samples and careful documentation of the sampling frame.
